I was the sole visual effects artist on the cult hit game Psychonauts, brought in to at FX toward the last year of a grueling 4-year production cycle. The game was created by DoubleFine Productions, out of the twisted mind of Tim Schafer, for Majesco. The hours were psycho and the pay was, well, naught-- but that's working in games for you. I still really enjoyed this project, even the challenge of generating VFX using the Lua scripting system, instead of an actual dyamics interface.
